Information regarding Sushicon 4.0 will be posted roughly three weeks before the event occurs. From past experience, I have found that this format works well (ie. restaurant tends not to "lose the reservation", closer contact with restaurant managers about doing seperate checks, etc.)
As of now the only information to report is the date -- Wednesday, August 1st at the Sushi Factory on Tropicana.

I regret that I will be unable to join you this year. My schedule prevents me from arriving in LV until Thursday.

Excluding any unforseen delays I should be there.

I got a few peeps interested in coming along this year, how much does it usually run (cost) for per participant?

Yeah, but do we HAVE to have it at Sushi Factory?
1.) Every year, they freak out when we all show up
2.) Every year service is slow
3.) Every year orders get screwed up
4.) Every year they freak out when it's time for the bill (though, last year I just paid and had everyone settle up with me later to make it easier, NOT that I plan to do that again this year )

I think they did a fine job last year. I called multiple times that day in advance, and they had the tables all set up and the first round of sushi shortly followed. Two years ago splitting of checks was an issue, but last I had called numerous times, they agreed -- then when they said they couldn't I talked to the manager who verified who I was and there were no problems after that.
I'm not against having the event at a different location, so if you know of a different place that will be able to accommodate us let me know ASAP so I can begin changing the event logistics.

Probably around seven. Since the event date is rapidly approaching and I still have not heard any alternate locations from Hackajar, this year the event will once again be held at the Sushi Factory. I will be posting all information regarding the event sometime this week.

Never been to The Sushi Factory.. But from reviews they are one of the top rated for Vegas.

Koto Japanese $25 (http://www.kotolasvegas.com/menuallyoucaneat.htm)
Makino (http://www.usmenuguide.com/makino.html)
On Google Reviews,
Todai got 4.5/5 stars (23 reviews)
Sushi Factory got 5/5 stars (8 reviews)
Sushi on Tropicana 4/5 stars (5 reviews)
Koto 4/5 stars (1 review)
The link to Koto has the menu, the buffet apparently includes other items besides sushi, like tempura.

All of the arrangements have been confirmed. The event will take place Wednesday, August 1st at the Sushi Factory. I appreciate the suggestions of other venues, but being as we are close to the event date I made the decision to stick with our regular location. However, I will be in Vegas on an extended trip and will try and fit it into my schedule to check out the other proposed venues - using the recon for a possible location change next year.
Information is as follows:
Date: Wednesday, August 1st.
Time: 7:00PM - ??
Location:
Sushi Factory
6120 W Tropicana Ave # 811
Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 876-5665
Currently the reservation is for thirty persons. I know a few of you have replied to this thread, but to make sure we have space for everybody, please send me an email at godminusone [at] godminusone [dot] com if you plan on attending.
