Since I will be arriving on Tuesday this year, I will definitely be making an appearance. I will also have a rental care in case a couple of others at the Riviera want to catch a ride.

Nobu at the Hard Rock is not bad and definitely not stuffy in the way Roku at Ceasers and
and Okada at the Wynn are. I think Okada has the best food, though.

Despite the dumb name, "I Love Sushi" is amazing and a favorite amongst many locals. It is in Henderson, so it is a good 20 minutes from the Strip under the best conditions.

If a local isn't already doing this, I'm happy to visit the chosen place and make arrangements.

"I Love Sushi" suggestion useless without pix.

Useless, indeed. Please note that the strip mall is the architectural abomination of choice beyond the Strip. Perhaps these will help:
rolls and boring signs. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/OK0ba4X5seibH8oMWh4bhw?select=rj0L9gTkEZJwJuZ0o3q8 AQ)

In order to keep the good karma going from Shmoo...any and all reservations should be made under Nick Farr's name.

I've adopted this practice for more than sushi since my return and have achieved great success.

I have gone here quite a few times since moving to Vegas, good stuff IMHO. I have taken many a DEFCON friend visiting Vegas has gone here for good times & good fish. $25 all you can eat, how can you go wrong?

If you name drop "Nick Farr", you get free green tea ice cream!

I plan on attending again with some others, I looked up Inaka, theres 2 locations, one on Flamingo and one on S Eastern. Both locations are a bit away from the Con. 11 miles to one, and almost 9 miles to the other location.

I'd like to submit Island Sushi for consideration. AYCE for $25 at dinner, and mind-blowingly amazing stuff it is. Run by a couple of bruddahs from the Islands, it's a great little place. Small-ish, but I'm sure they'd happily make room for a large group.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/island-sushi-las-vegas (I dunno why I haven't yelped this place myself... need to remedy that.)

Yes, it's off the strip, but it's not that bad a drive (by freeway or streets) and is well worth it, IMO. Heck, I'm a local and would be happy to pile 4 more folks in my CRV.

Any updates on location yet? Sushi Factory was good last year, I was looking and Makino has alot of good reviews, their website says call for group discounts, regular price is 23.95 dinner. They have 4 stars (24 reviews) (http://www.yelp.com/biz/makino-las-vegas) on yelp. They have a few locations, closest one is
3965 S. Decatur Blvd. It looks like a promising place, not much further than Sushi Factory was.

I second Makino, esp if some non-sushi-lovers want to attend. The wide variety of sushi is very good (esp considering it's not a sushi-ya) and the rest of the buffet is top notch as well. There's a location just down the street from the other place I recommended (Island Sushi) in Henderson (the newest location) as well as a location at the Premium Outlets - MUCH easier (and closer) to the Rivera than the location on Decatur, bigger too.

Is there anything official on Sushi Con meetup place yet?

Would somebody please ping me at Pyr0@Pyr0.net once a formal location and time has been decided. Also I often rent buses when driving large groups of people around vegas during con.

Also event Organizers:
Cheryl was able to find me a bus for 50$ or something stupid cheap like that over the last couple of years. When we did the first sushi meetup, the remote 303 party, etc. we have always been able to charge a 3 dollar per person fee for the ride and that also tipped the driver well. It's way cheaper than a cab and everybody gets there at the same time (and the same place)
