WILDCARD
There will be a slot for a walk-on team this year. The walk-on team will need to stop by the MysteryChallenge table in the contest area Friday morning to register for the contest. In the event that multiple teams are vying for the wildcard slot, there will be a mini-race challenge given that will determine who gets the slot.

Sweet. Does that mean that we (Team Halibut) solved the puzzle third, or are the other two teams registered through other means (eg: They won last year or something like that)?

zZq was presented with the same challenge, we overcame.
While we were part of the consortium that won last year, no special advantage for this years challenge has been (or should be) provided. It would make winning a little less epic.

You guys were the third team to solve the puzzle, and register.

By my notes, we (Halibut) came in fourth out of 21 teams last year. Which reminds me, I should log into the BBS one of these days.
There were 22 official teams last year.

Number of teams will be reduced this year. This will allow for more complex challenges.

And to keep up with my usual promptness... nothing about being fashionably late here.... Team B4 makes it to the offical team roster without a moment to spare!
See y'all in Vegas!

Counting from zero?
always count from Zero.... otherwise your software will give stupid answers :-)

Why don't you ask last year's teams how badly I screwed them by NOT starting from a zero...how many hours on that guys? hehehe
Never make assumptions. Never ever.

Just tell them that you were, uhh, using a mask of ASCII! Yeah! 'A' & 0x1F = 1 That sounds like as good an excuse^W^Wa reason as any, right?

Indeed. Last year was a good lesson on that.
