      wow... i am utterly and wholly unconvinced that this isn't an April Fool's Day joke. this seems impossible coming from Comcast.

          It isn't a joke, I saw an article about it before today.
          A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

                  You right it does seem totally out of character for them. Maybe their CEO found religion? More likely FIOS is putting a hurting on their suburb sales.

                      Perhaps they were worried about potential lawsuits stemming from what's effectively a packet injection-based DoS attack against their customers
