Re: Awesome...now Denver International has full body screening...
Why looking for instances of punk rock clothing and the TSA I came across this. Being a cat person I thought it was interesting. Poor kitty, he or she has that I've just been violated by the TSA look on it's face.

"please remove all metalic objects from your person and place them in these containers"
unless they removed that system completely with the installation of the screening, then you have somewhat of a problem. as i understood it, it was only replacing strip searches. but then again, i may be wrong...
i agree that this is a total invasion of privacy... unless the people operating the machines are all genderless, then i see a problem. i may just try the lead tape idea... i also agree that i dont want to get cooked. i love electronics, but sometimes they dont spend enough time testing the effects of them, especially when they involve stepping into them or walking through them.

I think that was his point.Screw that, think about the enormous sweaty man that invariable occupies the seat next to you and pins you between his 3-seatbelt-extension waistline and the sidewall of the fuselage.
I'd sooner volunteer to ride shotgun on one of the company's cross-country trucks.... And the damned things don't even have passenger seats the way we configure them!

Gee am I glad I switched to an airline that doesn't service BWI (and recently cancelled plans to service LAX). I've been raking in copious amounts of spare cash by being the local airport taxi, and the past few people I've taken down there have been subjected to one of these scanners.
Here's hoping that Dulles and Long Beach stay "insecure"

According to the TSA:
Now I certainly understand if you don't believe the source. For comparison, the energy projected by the system is 10,000 times less than a cell phone transmission.
I haven't yet found any meaningful scientific research on the potential effects of MMW radar.Leave a comment:

Re: Awesome...now Denver International has full body screening...
I am flying out of Phoenix airport in a week (Saturday) and I will make sure that I don't go through the imaging machine. They may pat me down, they may metal detect me, hell, they may even use that puff machine they have, I can deal with air being blown on me. I can't deal with killing hundreds of thousands of my unused sperm all in the name of security.
Besides, these machines have just been installed, how much of an effect does it have on the human body? It is after all a radio wave, I know not to get close to transmit towers for radio and TV stations for that exact reason, I don't want to get cooked.Leave a comment:

The likelihood that you could stand that close to the checkpoint with a "recording device" would surely cause you more problems. I'm sure its grounds for harassment and or detainment. You don't have any constitutional rights in the airport anymore. That said, I'd love to record the entire process of jumping in or around their hoops without compromising my principles, just once.Leave a comment:

Metal pasties on your naughty bits, god I love that imaginary. Someone has got to do that at Denver and get the reaction on video. That would be classic.

Minors are ok, especially if they're on the "no-fly" list.
