I'm really shocked. Estimating $160 in flight costs versus about 560 miles round trip at $4 a gallon, your vehicle would have to be down at 14mpg to break even.
(This, of course, ignores wear-and-tear on the vehicle but it also ignores transportation between to and from both airports and possible parking costs.)

I wonder because I'm in a similar situation.
Wear and tear of the vehicle is a big part of it... that and the time for the drive.
Although, the long drive is great for thinking about life.
