  • Faster than light

Not sure if this hit anywhere else, but it appears to me that this topic disappeared about as fast as the scientific accomplishment. It is rather old news, but I have achieved nothing aside from blank stares from conversational counterparts.

Almost a couple years ago it was reported that some scientists had successfully made light to travel faster than, well, light itself. A few pretty neat implications rushed to my head, but the topic all but died on impact from what I could tell.

    CNN article:

    Scientific American:

Any more news or updates? Any thoughts..?
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

I have not seen these articles, but I do recall one in the news that they slowed the speed of light down to 24 mph by passing it through some type of substance. Ought to make me feel like I am on my old 8088 again.
