  • Star Wars Ep. II AOTC

I went to see Attack of the Clones this morning. It was awesome. Episode 2 was much better than the Phantom Menace. Has anyone else seen it yet? What did you think?

While Ep. 1 wasn't the best Star Wars flick, I really haven't understood why so many people got up in arms about it being the worste film ever, Lucas has lost it, blah blah... I will be seeing Ep. 2 tomorrow night, will post my thoughts
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Don't misunderstand my post. I loved Ep. 1 too. I am saying that AOTC is BETTER than Phantom Menace. I never quite understood the vitriol directed at Phantom Menace either. Phantom Menace had some problems, but overall it was great. If you liked Phantom Menace, you will LOVE AOTC.
      My $0.02...

Ep 1 was pretty good, but I still saw some flaws.
Ep 2 was much better, but still had a little flaw here and there (Crappy dialogue for Anakin at times)
But besides that, Ep 2 is defiently worth seeing in theaters.
Especially the ending fight scene. It's amazing....

        EDIT:
But there was one REALLY bad part in the whole movie. There is this guy in a big bulky suit of metal, and he is talking, and he says he is from the "Techno Union" or something like that but it is all distorted and I was laughing my ass off when he was on the screen for those 2 seconds.
        EDIT2:
After research, I found out his name is "Wat Tambor", and he is a senator which makes droids and he's a sepratist.

hahah sorry, I didn't intend that as a direct comment on your post, but more of an anguished cry out... I found Ep. to be decent, although like you pointed, had its flaws, but still a decent SW flick. Many have taken the track that anything from Lucas this point forward isn't worth anything because he screwed up so bad with EP1, a point of view I just can't see. I am a far cry from the SW geek too, I collect no figurines, laugh at those that camp out for tickets, etc... However, can't wait, EP2 tonight...

YES! Without giving too much away I will just say that the ending fight scene alone is worth twice the price of admission!

Seen the clones, I have... Not bad at all. I can't say it was the most intriquing of movies that I've seen, but ditto on the fight seen. It was a treat to see him move. It was better than EP1, although some of the storyline was a little too accentuated.

My thought is that the movie was only mediocre in the SW line, because Lucas continued an over-detailed focus on things unrelated to the major plot, spending time on things that much of the audience already knows, without lending small intricate twists and throwing a few bones. He has left himself a lot of timeline for the 3rd installment, which may lend to an even better EP3 in the years to come.

Overall, definately worth seeing; although for those that have to pay $10-12 a theater show, it might be worth waiting for the rental.

I am definitely an SW geek, so I guess I am bias. One thing I liked about AOTC is that it seemed like Lucas geared this one specifically to hardcore SW fans. People who have seen the other 4 movies multiple times and follow the story line in depth (sad as it is, I am guilty as charged LOL).
In my opinion this one (unlike Ep 1) tied a lot of plot elements together that are present not only in the final 3 movies, but also in the book series. Again I don't want to drop spoilers so I will keep specifics to myself for a couple of weeks until everyone that wants to see it without preconceptions has had a chance, but in my opinion this movie had a lot of things that hardcore SW fans have been asking for without some of the things that the hardcore fan did not want (i.e. less Jar Jar haha).

I enjoyed SW Ep. 2. The ending was the best part. This girl definitely has a crush on Yoda. And yes, I saw it Wednesday night opening night. I didn't stand in line but friends did stand in line 6 hours for tickets. I am not saying anything more. I don?t want to ruin it for anyone.

I think that the first half was a little slow and some of the dialouge was a little corny. but the movie reached a turning point when R2 and C3PO returned to their comical antics. As for being worth twice the ticket price, well I've already seen it twice, so I guess it was worth at least twice the price. BTW the tickets here were under $7. I personally did not like episode 1 as much as the rest of the starwars series, but let's be fair now, those are tough films to compete with.

Samuel L Jackson lives up to his reputation as stated on his wallet in Pulp Fiction. What else can I say about it without giving away too much. It is really cool how it foreshadows on the original three, episodes 4-6 that is. I think the whole Fett story is kinda interesting.

Anyway, I don't think I can say much more without giving away too much.

Definately, the Fett background adds that much more value to the movie. The c3po/r2 antics were hillarious
