once your logged in. and it's actually working :/

there is a little button in the upper right that says uploads .
click that it walks you thru it
just remember that you have to put in your info as your uploading you can't edit them latter.

if someone can tell me how to get the "Retrieve all images from a URL" working properly, i'll be happy to upload things. i'm not going to do 100 images one at a time, however.

I think we experimented with this and found it only worked when pulling images from a directory listing, not from a web page.

I can test that again.

I had plans to include support for users to drag images to dav folders, aka "Internet Folder" aka "Internet Disk" which is similar to Apple's "iDisk" with supported images and a wlk-through on how to setup such a "disk" so people could just drag content over. This increased the size limit of files uploaded to 500 MB and allowed support for videos, and would auto-purge old content uploaded but not placed in albums.

Problem? I never finished testing it, and one of the reasons for me not being at Defcon this year, was work, and too much of it. Sorry, just have not had time.

I had it working well with cadaver, and the built-in Ubuntu "gui-based" WebDAV disk, and had MS Windows 98 -> XP mostly working, but had not had a chance to test this on OS X.

I'm busy again tis week until this weekend, and I can try to finish it up then.

What this would give you would be a way to mass-upload a bunch of images by dragging them to a disk, and then choose to "upload images" but instead ask it to process previously uploaded images, where you are then allowed to add comments for each image uploaded, and then commit them to various albums.

Vaporware until someone other than me actually uses it.

Unless something else comes up, I can look at this again this weekend.

Oh yeah, and for "hack-ability":
It does not support subdirectories, it only allows certain files based on extension, and it will automagically purge old files left around, but not yet processed into albums. (Once in albums, they disappear from the "WebDAV Folder".)

It probably could be abused as an extra drive for non-defcon content if the files include one of the approved media extensions, and are smaller than whatever max size is specified, but it seems silly to do that with all of the above restrictions.
