This is, definitely something to consider watching. Just though I might add the premier date (as per Wikipedia) October 15th, 2008.

Re: Joe Grand on Discovery Channel's "Prototype This"

Thanks guys. Yeah, it's been a *long* time coming and it will be nice when the show finally airs. Turns out that the day I got back from DEFCON, Discovery gave us the go-ahead to start talking about the show. Hah. Of course, I have no control over what ends up on the cutting room floor and what makes it onto the program, but we're doing our best over here to capture the true essence of the engineering process (and how much of a total dork I am).

I do know that they're planning to put lots of extra stuff online, which is good, to hopefully appeal to the more technical audience...

            More later,

The TV ads for "Prototype This!" started last night during MythBusters. Best line in the ad: "It's like porn for nerds!"

Joe was kind enough to let me know this morning that their Discover site is up: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/prototyp...type-this.html I've spent a good part of the morning watching the video clips, and it looks like the show will be great fun.

I have to say I really enjoyed the show. Good job KP. Even with the entertainment editing, i think discovery really delivered a great episode...cool tech too. Looking forward too Wednesday nights now.

I thought the show was really good too. Only a little bit of awkwardness in it, but that's expected with these new shows. No different than when Mythbuster's or Dirty jobs first started up. It always takes a bit till the people on these types of shows get comfortable with filming. If anyone recalls the first episode of Mythbusters, Jamie was pretty stiff, now look how relaxed he is.

I thought their first idea was intriguing, but kind of impractical, I can see some people never getting out of the parking lot after a tough day at work.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

                          prototype this on Discovery

I saw in Defcon 16 posts, the Discovery show Prototype this was mentioned. I would like to say the show was interesting and also post that it is also shown on Sunday mornings on Discovery , which if you are like me with crazy work hours, make it easier to see.

I've been watching it, and quite enjoy it. What I don't like, though, is they have the exact same 'review so far' after every friggen' commercial. I realize it's a somewhat standard practice in TV, but 'Prototype This' does it worse than other shows.

Other than that, pretty awesome, I say.
                            It's not stupid, it's advanced.
