So hard to know what to think of this after the Diebold thing. Paper ballots may still be the way..

I've had several discussions on this, and I'm surprised that there isn't more public outcry. I was also pleasantly surprised that there is a .ppt slide show on the most recent defcon cd pertaining to e-voting machines and their vulnerabilities.

I agree on the paper ballots. At least they can be found and argued over.

If you want some more information Barry Wels has a bit on the e voting machines on his blog www.blackbag.nl/, there is even a video of them seeing how long it would take to open the machine and change over the 2 ROM's which store the votes, they did it in 1 minute.

And another article about how Diebold put a picture up of their keys, to make it easier for someone to get into their machines.

Should just stick with paper ballots, harder to change and at least you can re count them.
