It will get you stopped by a diligent police officer however as will the fake printed plate. In big cities however you will most likely get away with it for a long time due to a higher and more serious level of per capitol crime.

Got news for ya. In PA there's laws against having an obscured plate, and that includes dirt. It is your responsibility to ensure that your plate can be read clearly.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

I hear you. I see those things all the time in the city though. Never said it was right. You gotta give me a change to edit my stuff before responding

Can't help it if you type slow. ;)

I don't think it's actually legal to put your permanent plate in the rear window either, as it isn't lit at night time.

If you want to get stopped be sure to do these things.

What gets me is the fact that the "high-tech" heart beating inside many of those cameras is Windows XP.

I've been stopped because my plate was covered with snow. Who'd a thunk? It was freaking snowing. Probably one of the only things on my car that isn't heated, the plates.

The snow was an excuse, your just one of those suspicious looking geeky types.

Could always try that "Columbo" episode trick where a woman prints a copy of the accuseds' face, wears it like a mask, and runs a red light at the same time the crime occurs. "But I couldn't have done ANYTHING. I ran a red light, see...?"

Just make sure Columbo isn't around.
