Any insight on if there will be catastrophic badge shortages again like last year? I sat next to a damn trash can for 3 hours on SAT AM to make sure that I could trade out my paper badge for the real deal! BWHAHAHAHA! Good times, good times......

Anyway, I'm arriving at the Riv at 8AM on THUR in hopes of securing a real badge from the get-go.

On a related note: Any indication if we are expecting more/less/same for attendance compared to last year? (Is there a way to estimate such a figure?)

And, yes, I looked in the "Hack the Badge" discussions and didn't see anything related, so I fired away in here.

It's almost 100% that the microprocessor on the badge will be the same as last year.

I do not believe there will be badge shortages this year ;)

Now I can tell you there will be a limited number of Hardware Hacking Village kits again this year. We anticipate running out of them the first day again.

Different Chris, and I already have yours reserved.

This year we are using the kits as an excuse to get people doing surface mount soldering- think QFP package types....

I'm just curious on the actual badge shortage possibility. I'm not really into the processor or hacking village kits, although I've vowed to be a fly on the wall in the HHV a little this year.

Well....for what it's worth, we always think we will have enough badges, this year is no exception. Take that how you will.

There won't be any badges this year, due to bad economic times.

Besides, Defcon is canceled anyway.
