So my talk deals with end-of-the-world scenarios and how hackers can be useful in rebuilding society after a epic scale disaster.

Lo and behold, Discovery Channel is running a show that starts the week before con on that *exact* premise.

While I applaud their looking at such challenges (though the fear mongering angle is something I find annoying), their timing sucks donkey nuts.

I still think that there is some good info in the talk, this development now makes me wonder if I've wasted a good chunk of a year?

Question is to you folks: Now that you know that my talk is redundant thanks to Discovery, am I going to be seen as just being a 'me too' speaker? Is the fact that the show hits just before my talk going to cut into my audience?

Yes, I'm pissed off but mostly at myself for not having the idea of pitching the show first.

My talk at least has one redeeming factor: Zombies!!!!
