At the risk of asking a really stupid question, how many people ended up attending DEFCON last year?

No one attended, Defcon was canceled last year.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This applies to making babies, hacking, and youtube videos.

It was? Man, I must of been at a really big funeral instead then because I saw like 6,000 people wearing black.

I live near Toronto and have attended the con for the last 3 years. I own the company so I always go on my own dime. Not sure about other parts of Canada but Toronto has not been that badly affected and from what I hear it is mainly because of the Canadian regulations placed on investors, banks and the like. I will say though that I am driving to Detroit and flying out of there because it is literally 55% cheaper. All of my clients have kept the IT spending about the same and very few report major cutbacks whatsoever across the board. Luck of the Maple Leaf I suppose... I AM CANADIAN!!!

Last I heard Jimmy was trying to get a job tending bar at AA meetings, but he's a newfie so it comes as no surprise. Sally gives lap dances at the Immigration office in Ottawa and Suzy went on to make documentaries about people who smuggle rich white Americans into Mexico to pick jalapeno's, she is really the success story of the bunch but don't let the others know!!!

The side affect of having less attendees is that there will be less bottlenecks in the hallways.. That totally sucks for both BH and defcon...

The bottlenecks were pretty bad last year; and even as of mid-day Friday the place smelled like a locker room!

My team is working on ways to deal with the bottlenecks. We're gonna try some new stuff this year. Nothing I can do about the smell though, you people need to bathe more..

Ever watch a Jerry Bruckenheimer movie and say 'wow, I wish I had the chance to run down a hallway in slow motion as an explosion happened behind me'? No? Well, then you aren't going to like Defcon's new hallway crowd dispersal solution one bit..

This should be announced at dc101 and all day Friday.
