I may be blind, but I've found receipts for Defcon 15, 15, and 16. None for 17. Anybody know where it is? I asked at the registration desk, they said it's "online"

Re: DC17 receipt?
This comes up every year. While at con, I even mentioned two of the people that will probably be involved in this that someone is going to post this question, and ask for a receipt. One of the people I spoke to about this said that, it could be worse -- they could be asking for a receipt in the forums on Saturday, during con.
It looks like this was now asked on Friday, during con, beating their guess by one whole day. (hah hah)
Ok. Back to being serious again.
Here is how it will work. Starting tomorrow, I will start a timer that will run for 7 days (1 week) to give the goons, and people involved in Defcon at least 1 week to get back home and wind down. Then, after that, I'll either call some of the people involved or IM/SMS them.
There is a pretty good chance that they will respond before the week is up (even though I threatened to hold one of their laptops for ransom unless they took a week off. ;-)
Wait a week starting tomorrow, and if there is nothing after that, I'll go ask about it after 7 days.
Hope this helps.

1: Explain to your supervisor that the convention registration process is intentionally built to not have a paper trail.
2: Explain that the event organizers are working far too many hours as it is making sure the event happens smoothly.
3: Explain that post-event, the powers that be are attempting to take a couple days to travel home and decompress from the week.
4: Be patient.
You have to be understanding with this situation. The people who need a receipt for the conference are in the minority. Being a whole two days since the con ended, I think its safe to assume that the event organizers are still working, let alone have had a chance to relax a bit.
If it is something that needs to be done and cant stand to wait a few days, grab a .pdf of one of the previous years receipts and change the date/event number.Of course its fully cooked... we had it set on "linen".

Re: DC17 receipt?
I made my own in Word with a screenshot of the main DEFCON homepage image and some verbage about the dates, location, and cost. I slapped an area for my printed name and signature on the bottom and turned it in. I told them I have the badge in my office if they need to see it. The $120 cost is clearly specified on the schedule (also turned in) so they know I wasn't inflating that.
