  • Myth: BYOB, Food, Pizza deliveries = $500 fine

Last night my friends and I went to the registration desk to get the number for Pizza Hut to make a delivery. THe lady at the desk immediately said you don't want to do that as it's a $500 fine if you have pizza delivered to your room. WTF?!? So we ate somewhere in the hotel.

I called down this morning as I found some other website where somebody from Decon posted a message about BYOB = $fine. WTF?!? again.

This is all false and true. I called down this morning and was informed that folks are reading the policy wrong. It is for hospitality purposes ONLY. If you are bringing drinks, food from the outside, or having a pizza delivered to your room personally that is OK. If you are hosting a big party, that is a different story and of course makes sense. If you are going to use the Riviera for a party then yes you probably should use their services!

Anyways, just wanted to clear that up for anyone that might have heard the same thing. .... Now I just wish I could reverse time and order that pizza I wanted last night!

The problem is where the "party" line is. This year it seems to be at anything over 4 people.

500 dollars seems bizarre even if it was a miscommunication.. I mean, how hard is it to deliver pizza?

What if your 25 guests all want to take a break and order their own pizzas?

If the Riv was reasonable in their pricing I would be happy to. But they charge 3 or 4 times over retail for booze, which is a bit much.

Also, they offer very little catering for my vegetarian and vegan guests.

They also think 10 people sitting around with no music or booze = party for some reason.

Fuck the Riv, they have no interest in catering to us. I'd rather pay the fines, it works out cheaper.
