If we're going to do a long range, we will have to manage the time that the range is "cold", to change targets. It would be a great idea if we had a few 4 wheelers / range vehicles to run up and down to quickly change targets. Anyone have any ideas?

I will be willing to bring my Browning Lever .308, my Stainless Kimber TLE II in .45acp, and would also volunteer to be an RSO.

I will make sure that I have the time off from Check-In duties, and that I don't go out so late with flea and crew the night before.

I'm usually a >400yd. man due to restrictions at my local range (400yds. is the longest range not reserved for military) but if it's logistically feasible I'd be willing to bring out the reach out and touch someone gear and test my mettle.

in the past folk like Noid, Merciless Mike, and myself have worn the orange hat and vest at various times, but we really appreciate others with experience who are willing to serve in that role for various moments since that allows us the opportunity to shoot and teach others one-on-one.

didn't know if the dc shoot has "safety officials" so to speak so I wanted to check if their is a need for that deviant. I plan on making it this year to defcon (which will be my first) and if my commander isn't a douche than hopefully I will make it early enough for the shoot also!

If you need an official just give me a shout and I will see what I can work out! If not I plan on being out their enjoying the fun as a back-up medic!

thanks so much for the offer of tables, etc. that will be a big help.

by the way... it's sounding like bulk of people here are pleased with our location from last year. no fees, no officials, no hassles. i like that a lot, personally.

if that's the general consensus, we'll start locking that in more or less officially for our planning purposes.

Last year was my first defcon shoot, and there's no way I'd miss it again! This year, my better half will be (hopefully) be able to work out vacation to make it too!

An earlier commenter mentioned the lack of tables... I brought two last year, and can load up a few more in the truck to drive out again this year. I'm sure as the event gets closer that there will be discussions on logistics (shade, tables, beverages, etc..) so I'll keep an eye out for that.

Oh please oh please oh please can we do Watermelon Skeet? That would be amazing!

This year I'm going to do something different for targets. Plinking at tin cans and broken shit isn't as much fun as apples and oranges and watermelons. Not to mention more environmentally sound!

I did. It's actually very similar to the idea I had in mind based on Apple's original rough, though in my opinion anyway, it does seem a tad on the busy side. None the less I for one like the direction it's moving in.

In regards to traveling through CA, almost any Title 1 firearm & accessories can be made CA legal.
PM with what you may think is contraband and I'll let you know how it make it CA legal.

If I go to the Defcon Shoot next year, I'll bring my CA legal AK pistol.

Making arrangements as we speak to actually make it this time provided my hardware will fit in a working vehicle.

This is true, but have you ever known me to be short on coolant. ;)

I do like the idea of non-conventional missile throwers. I'll have to check the NV regulations for crossbows sometime soon. The dryness of Nevada scrub in August will likely mean a no-no for more of the interesting possibilities.
