    newest TTB completed!

The photos pretty much say it all...

there are other images, too, in the latest TTB gallery. i show the construction and painting, etc. the difference in size compared with the original TTB is nothing short of astounding to me. the fact that technology has matured (and will continue to mature) so fast is well-known... but seeing it really plainly like this is just so visceral somehow to me.

i'm in the process of copying all of the content over (and will be for all of tomorrow, as well... since USB is now the only means of transfer, a mild annoyance with this new version) what we lack in throughput is more than adequately balanced out by the extreme ease with which these new TTBs can be shipped and handled.

so... the big question... anyone think they'd like to contribute to the fabrication of another one of these? i now made the whole unit for a hair's breath under $200. a few folk have PM'd or emailed me asking if they can be a part of the next round of hardware. i'll be coordinating those matter shortly.

also needed are new locations, as always... the more people i can put on the mailing list, the better. if you don't personally know someone who is deployed, i'm sure you can at least help get the word out so that we are contacted by folk who do have friends and family overseas at present.

    stay safe out there, everyone.

I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

i'm thinking of including one of these guys in the new TTB cases.

while one has a pretty good chance of seeing mini USB cables just sort of floating around, micro USB cables aren't nearly standard enough yet, in my view. if someone were to misplace the micro cable in this TTB case while it's out in the field, that would totally bone the project. keeping a small adapter like this in the case would at least allow someone to temporarily use a standard, full-size USB cable if the need arose.

      thoughts?
