Awesome first meeting! Pretty good turnout too. Looks like the last Friday of the month is working for everyone. Still looking for a new venue, but a couple attendees offered up their places. Stardust works as a decent fallback venue, and I'll still pursue familab as an option since we wanted a more permanent place for a lab and equipment.

Metasploit presentation in March by g3k. Details to be posted to the DC407 Google Calendar and cross posted to the forums.

Yes! The meeting was excellent, it seems that we have a lot of folks pretty much on the same skill level, so it will be a very good learning experience for everyone.

I'm working on getting a VMware Server box ready for next month's presentation so that people can play with MSF live while I give my little presentation. I'm not a pro in any regard, so it will be a learning experience for me as well. I'll edit this post to show the requirements everyone will need to participate in the hands on stuff.

That's probably my #1 concern with meeting there, but it sounds like they're game for having us there. I'll post back when I find out details. :)

Just an update, but I heard back from the FAMiLab hackerspace crew. They're open to us meeting there, and they have a few Defcon regulars among them. I'll probably be heading to their monthly members meeting to see if we can work something out.

I'm thinking we should leave this month's meeting as is, but moving forward we may be able to meet at FAMiLab.

What about cost? From what I understand FAMiLab charges a fee for membership.

In that case, we could shoot for Feb 26th then? I'm trying to give people enough time to go this month, i.e. make plans etc. We can always change the regular meeting date/time if need be.

Feb 26th is good for me, I'll let my people know and I'll be sure to be there.

How does Stardust on February 29th around 7pm work for everyone? We can change the meeting location and time/date if anyone has any suggestions, or we can discuss that at the first meeting.

Feb 28th? or March 1st? It's not a leap year this year.

Yeah, I'm making sure people I know are at least aware of it for now. Site looks good, love the banner graphic.

The standard meetings, I think are usually the first Friday of a month, I'm not sure if that's the road you'd like to go down or not. I know there is a semi-active 2600 group that meets at the mall on Colonial, but I'm unsure of their meeting times.

I commute to Lake Mary from Volusia, that said if the meetings are Fri's after work or weekends I'm definitely interested.

I sent a few PMs and IMs out to people on the forums who mentioned Orlando meetings. So far, no responses, but that was late last night. I have one contact who went to con with me last year who is interested, and I reached out to a few other contacts as well.

Plenty of time between now and February.
