I'd say 80% might even be too low. The only ones I ever see that are 100% done are talks that were presented at other cons. Which are also on the sites of the other cons they were presented at anyway."Raise a toast to ... I think he might have been our only decent ."Comment

Doesn that mean 9/10th of all cons are "sell outs"? Or is that a distinction people don't care about any more?PGP Key: https://defcon.org/html/links/dtangent.htmlComment

I have given the same "topic" talk before at more than one con and even then I still change the slides, sometimes considerably."\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38";Comment

I just filled ~200 USB drives for a conference. Split between 5 people it took approx 1.5 hours. This was with frequent talking/socializing.
Also, must these choices be mutually exclusive?
(Say, couldn't we hand out USB drives and put the content under a copyleft license and put it all on P2P?)
(Also, P2P will help with bandwidth costs tremendously)Last edited by RuckusKnight; July 14, 2010, 09:39.Comment

Just be sure that you know what you're getting (MD5, or something) in case one of your peers decides a reverse shell PDF exploit sounds fun and they want to try it. Another idea that I quickly dropped was having consoles where you could put in your own CD/USB drive and it would copy the data. It would be interesting to see how long those would last.Coffee is a lost art, best not left to Starbucks.

Re: New poll: What format would you like for your DefCon media?
I like the CD myself, not just for the talks which I've found to be mostly up to date, but for the music, the schematics, the code etc, and the searchable/readable program (last years was an eye strain.)Okay, as was stated by many commenters, my last post / poll on the con CD's was very much a binary question of "CD or no CD".
So here's a more open question, folks. It's very clear that folks would like some way to get preview DefCon talk / contest / puzzle / karaoke when they arrive at Con.
On the other hand, a number of people seemed to feel that meatspace media is not necessarily how they'd like to see it.
So, how would you like to see your DefCon served up at reg time?Comment
