I've been thinking about trying them out.

Converse skate shoes or sandals and I'm a happy man, otherwise, I'm wearing Rocky boots, damn comfortable shoes.

Hacker footwear.. my shoes have a perfectly slick bottom as to leave to traceable prints on the ground. The shoe laces have diamond cord inside them and can be used as an escape tool if captured. The sole of the shoe has a USB storage device embedded into it and a USB-mini port on the back side.

WTF, I just wear plain old cheap hiking boots, good for mountain biking, geo caching, water resistant for when I travel north and snowboard. I buy them wherever I find them, no name brand in particular. If they fit and feel good, thats all that matters.

I've always been one who values comfort over style.

I like 'em a lot, but would offer two pieces of advice:

                        - Go find a store that stocks a lot of the different styles, get properly fit, and try several styles on. These are different.

                        - Don't show up at the con with a pair you bought the day before. It takes a while to "break in" your leg and feet muscles. Plan on two-three weeks to get used to them.

In the past, I've gooned and conned in boots (chippewa's) with crocks in reserve in case of Sunday afternoon foot death. This year, it'll be the 5 fingers.

I'd call Danner, personally. Their boots have a heck of a warranty on them. If yours are already giving up the ghost, I'd shoot them a mail to see what they will do for you. Their customer service has historically been top notch.

I started out with Fila Skela-toes this weekend, but that was a fail quickly due to my feet not being used to walking in them on hard surfaces for long periods of time so I switched to my Merrils with SuperFeet insoles. Worked like a champ.

They're pretty rad! Though, if you plan on wearing them as a primary shoe, I'd recommend getting some toe socks or be willing to wash them frequently.
