Rides and Room Sharing: when to open?

I probably ask this each year, and will ask again this year.

When should we open the forum, "Rides and Room Sharing" for posting?

Historically, 2 months before Defcon has been the time we chose because anything earlier than 2 months before defcon and planning between people looking for rides and room sharing usually results in failed plans as people back out or are never heard from again.

What are your thoughts?

Adding a poll with multiple choice... select as many opening dates as you think would be a good idea. If enough people feel a different opening date would be better, I'll probably go with it.

2-3 months before is plenty.

As someone who is still floating around in academia, there is a lot of talk among college students wanting to go, but those who aren't serious will forget about it once school is out in the middle of May. Middle of May would be good, or June 1st.

I think it should open when the Defcon block for hotel rooms go into effect.

Gonna go with 2 months is good. Any more than that, and things come up, plans change and the flakery variable is more likely to appear.
