    Radio Communication at Defcon

    Hello All,

I recently picked up a 70cm/2m ham radio and I'm wondering if there will be many people at defcon that will be communicating on these bands?

I have read in the forums that ham radios were popular a few years ago, whats the scene like now?

Did you pick up a license to go along with it?

I can't speak for the Rio, having never been there, but the Riv was pretty tough on 2M.

Remember that if you want to be a radio pirate, you can NOT have a license. Also, if you use your callsign on the air, anyone can use QRZ to get your real name and address.
--- The fuck? Have you ever BEEN to Defcon?
