    In-N-Out Con?

I know there's a lot of folks at DC from places where there are no In-N-Outs, and that's a shame.

I was floating the idea of doing an unofficial "in-n-out meetup" on either Wednesday or Thursday evening.

The in-n-out burger is down Dean Martin drive from the hotel, probably about a 20-25 minute walk but very close by car.

Maybe we could gather folks who have Rentals with those who need rides and carpool over to the restaurant?

I think it would be fun to have a defcon takeover of the restaurant!!! Also would be an excellent opportunity as a social mixer to meet some new people and build new friendships. The Toxic BBQ was a great place to do this, but with the loss of that event, I'd like to have at least some alternative to meet new people in a social atmosphere outside of the normal "con boundaries".

I really like this idea. Get some more people and I'm down.

Well normally the Toxic BBQ happens offsite on thursday evening and is well attended, what else is going on at that time?

The Summit is in the evening, and "Pre-Con" is at the AP. I believe what Autobahn is talking about, is specifically plans for dinner on Thursday.

I know some people are planning to go (raid) the "Carnival World Buffet" at the Rio, since the ToxicBBQ was cancelled : https://forum.defcon.org/showthread.php?t=12318

But if the buffet is not your type of thing, In-N-Out isn't all that bad if you can get a good group together.

I've walked from the Rio to In-N-Out. It's really not bad at all and takes about 20 minutes. There's actually a fairly decent pedestrian ramp between the Rio and Dean Martin. Kinda surprising for Vegas, which is typically a bit hostile to pedestrians.

For that matter, there's actually a decent pedestrian ramp between the Rio and Caesar's Palace across I-15

Hostile to pedestrians? Try India, like Noida or Delhi!

I'm tentatively thinking thursday evening, I was thinking of printing some 1/4 page flyers or something to get the word out on wednesday and thursday.

The walk doesn't look too bad.

                        Re: In-N-Out Con?

I am a little upset about the toxic BBQ, I was really keen to get there this year.
I have heard great things about In-n-out burger, something we don't have in Australia. I hear it is one of the better burgers to be had.

However, if everyone is crashing the buffet, I will be in on that instead.
Wherever the action is... I would be in for either before The Summit.

                          Re: In-N-Out Con?

You probably don't need to do an "official" con for In-N-Out... there's enough people who LOVE the place (myself included) that will go at the drop of the hat.

Just go into any common area (hallway even) and shout out that you're going to In-N-Out. I guarantee there will be people who will come with you. I also guarantee that someone will have a car and take you.

I plan on going at least 2-3 times during the con.

                            You buy I fly.

(I will give 4 people a ride to in-n-out but you buy my dinner.)
