I like to think of Defcon as being in a perpetual state of both on schedule, and canceled. The only way to know for sure is to show up. It’s the “Schrödinger's Cat” of the convention world.
      I've got 99 problems, but a Mac ain't one.

"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

            --sigh--

It's a Fundamental Internet Truth that the quantity of clue on the 'net is finite.

Thank you for your contribution to 'net clue depletion / dilution.

The good news is that goons have clue bats and the mystical power to infuse clue into newbz.....

Just see any red shirt goon and ask for a clue.

I would recommend 4-600 mg of ibuprofen about 15 minutes prior to minimize the swelling at the infusion site.

The sign says cancelled. If signs stop you, you are not a hacker.

Defcon is actually an elaborate troll by the infosec community to fabricate the appearance of a conference in order draw a bunch of unsuspecting suckers to Las Vegas only to have them find Defcon is cancelled as part of an involuntary flashmob.

It's in the same spirit as the Forever Alone Involuntary Flashmob:

You should check out the pool on the roof. All the cool kids hang out there.

You mean the "big kahuna" suites? Cause they're at the top of the masquerade tower and have pools in them.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.

When word gets out that DEFCON is cancelled all the FBI, CIA, NSA, NRO, GIA, and other federal agencies no longer offer perdiem for their employees assigned to be here.

That way we only get the die-hards.
