  • Wardriving Contest question

As far as GPS data goes of located APs, what constitutes a valid GPS coordinate.

Can I use a handheld GPS that does not interface with the laptop to record the location of an AP as I detect it?

Hey Everybody it is Lt. Cmdr. Data joining our WarDriving Contest while he is taking a break from the Star Trek Convention!!!

... and now for something completely different... , why not just get a serial interface for your logging box? :)

Why didn't Data have a wireless connection to the ship's computer?

It shouldn't have been very difficult to do, and it would have been much more efficient than him saying "Computer, blah blah blah blah."

Personally I love the character, but think that the technology applied in the theory of Data sucks... If not only wireless, he shouldn't be sitting at the console, he should be able to interface directly with the machine, and not sit there and search screens at high rates... Sure we all understand he wants to portray a humanoid, and even eventually find the true self in human form.. that is fine... but if he is going to be technologically superior in anyway, please enhance his powers a little more... the ship can travel at warp 9, and etc, but can't have the android communicate directly with another computer?... sigh..

Oh, that would have been wonderful. The first thing those stupid TNG writers would have done is create a "love" episode between Data and the Enterprise, or knowing them, just differmet portions of the ship, like a replicator, so he could have a new relationship with the replicator the following week. And wouldn't it be fun to watch Troy helping them every week too?!

Damn, I hated TNG more than any other series. I'm not a trekkie, but I do enjoy watching some. The only character's I actually liked on TNG were Q and Gynan.

Sorry to rant, but I have not yet had my coffee this morning.

GUINAN!!!! Are you shittin me? That is the worst char in Star Trek history. GUINAN?!?!

TNG was great. Voyager was great. Deap Throat 69 (or whatever it was sucked) and so does Enterprise (but the finale was good last year so I have hope)...but GUINAN...

About Data having a love afair with the ship... Futurama covered this topic very well.

Matt Groenig has shown himself to have a true love of science and sci-fi with that show.

"And we have a photo finish...and the second horse won by a quantum!"
"No fair, you changed the results by looking at them!"

Holy shit was that a funny line, and I'll be damned sure 95% of the public didn't get it.

As for Guinan, I loved her character. She is what Troi should have been. She had wonderfull insight into human nature and her knowledge of things even the federation didn't know made for good story development and further made her character more interesting and mysterious. I also thought the relationship between her and picard was well done. Although she was the ships' bartender you felt that here were two very strong willed and interesting people who were compelled to each other intellectually and emotionally in a plantonic manner - unlike the Troi/Worf or Troi/Ryker relationships.

Now THAT is FUNNY! I guess Pavlov's dog rings a bell for most folks, but I prefer Schroedinger's cat.

Troi was a pair of tits. Her character was generally pointless. I don't watch star trek for tits, I watch it for story and other eye candy (special effects).

I go to strip bars, and download porn from usenet if I want tits.

All the post-TOS have had the token titty chick. Dax, Seven, T'Pau (or whatever her name is). And none of them have worked very well. The other chick (played by Nana Visitor) was more popular than Dax. Seven was fairly popular, but Soshi is much hotter than the vulcan in Enterprise.

Dude that is so not true, if not for her, there would never have been the torrid love affairs with riker, or worf... never would there have been the insightful information she provided to picard... come one now.. she was perfect!.. her mom was the best! gotta love those nude weddings! - not to mention the comic, fan fiction out there.. damn you are just no fun! ;)

I thought she generally played a good part, and she was hot. :D
