Re: Stupid people. What's wrong with them?
Snideology, you said what I tried to say 100 times better. I am glad I'm not alone about having that sense of embarrassment and I they made me feel like that it's not my business. They gave me that suspicious look that I was about to do something to their computers. I remember one time when I told the management company in my building that it's not secure to run unsupported versions of Windows and if they could log in as admin I'll fix the computers myself, for free. Then I asked them if I could use my own hard drive (I didn't have a computer at that time because I just moved). They told me that if anything happens to those computers I'd not be allowed back on them again. Lazy IT guy can't do his job right. (Or the guy's such a genius at half-assing his work that people would make sure to call him back because problems in the future are bound to happen.)
What did I do? Rooted the machine and fixed the damn thing myself because I couldn't run the plugins necessary to view the appropriate web content, including mail.
