I've got myself +2 tentative, but we'd prefer to disperse the fuel costs with more people to make it more cost-effective to drive. So if any locals are interested let me know. Consider this offer valid until I update the thread otherwise, or the event comes (whichever comes first).

Re: How many are interested in carpooling to DC20?
I try to carpool every year.
I'm in San Diego county, and it's going to be about a 5 hour drive... if someone wants to carpool, please contact me.--- If you're a snowflake, you're gonna have a bad time.
Have you ever BEEN to Defcon?

You might want to consider renting an RV if you can get enough ppl to cover the costs...

Re: How many are interested in carpooling to DC20?
Something you might want to consider on a carpool/caravan out (or back) is to set up "meet points/times" with other logical caravans. Since you'll (likely) be coming across I-70, it might make sense to gather people from Kansas (316, 620, 785, 913), Colorado (303, 720, 970, 719) and Utah (801, 435) on your trip out.
Of course, I seem to remember someone else suggesting such a 'mega-caravan' at one point, that never came to fruition, IIRC. And I wouldn't likely be able to participate since not only would I likely be going to Vegas early, but I'd be coming from an entirely different direction. (Although I might leave early and hook up with the 801/435 crowds, since I'd likely be coming down I-15...)I check my sanity with a wristwatch. What do you check yours with, a dipstick?

Re: How many are interested in carpooling to DC20?
we have a substantial TOOOL chapter in Kansas City (as mentioned in another thread here) and i know some of the members are coming to DEFCON. (two of them are part of our core staff, actually) so i'll pass the word their way. maybe some more interest."I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."
