Re: So what is everyone doing about transportation?

I ended up getting a Chevy Traverse, and may already have one passenger for both the Wed PM and Thu AM sessions, so I will have room for 5 really skinny people, or 4 average size people, or 3 DEFCON sized people :) Alternatively, I can take 2 people and have some large space in the back for any kit that needs transporting.

Wednesday PM - are we all meeting at the Rio somewhere and then heading out? Or just just head out to the site to arrive at the start time?

Thursday AM - I will be lining up to grab a badge WAAAY early, and will be heading out to the shoot site after that. The rental will be parked near the side entraance like last year.

And yes, I can drive on the "wrong" side of the road just fine. I have not been involved in any accidents whilst driving in the US, but have seen plenty of them in my rear view mirror :)

At DC19 we lined up at the back of the Rio but left in a rush, the tail end had some catching up to do!

Seems like if you don't have a car the strategy is to just hang out in the Rio lobby looking for people with gun cases?

I was hoping to find an empty seat in someone's car for 1 or both wednesday night sessions. When are most people planning on driving out so I can time getting there? 5:00 maybe?

We are going to meet at 7:30am Thursday at the Rio back door. Just head north and the exit faces a little east. Yes you will see plenty of gun cases. The Rio is a stickler with firearms, if they know you have a gun they expect you to store it with their security team. Do this at your own risk, I did that last year and when I came home I had a took kit and cleaning cloth that were not mine.

Here is a map, I THINK we meet around #23, can anyone confirm?

Last year, everyone assembled opposite the business services area, so opposite #26/#27 in a semi-lobby area between two sets of glass doors. Those doors led straight out to the rear parking area.

For the Wednesday PM sessions, as the shooter arrivals start on site at 4.30pm (as per Dev's schedule here), should those heading out for the afternoon sessions meet up at the same location as last year, in the lobby area opposite the business center, at about 3.30pm, and take things from there?

I will have room for 2 for the thurs morning escapade, however I will not be staying all day - probably leaving after my shift is over.
