    Black Badge Event: Confirmed

Yes, it is true. After many years of hard work and re-evaluation, our contest is again a Black Badge eligible event. This means that the team who wins the Hunt at DEFCON XX will WIN ONE FREE ENTRY TO DEFCON FOR LIFE. Or for as long as it takes for one of your team members to lose the badge in the future, you know, whichever comes first.

As there is often more than one person on each team, yes, this means you will get ONE badge and need to work out, amongst yourselves, how to use it at future cons. Not Our Problem, it is a hell of a prize no matter what and we worked really hard to get it for you!

Many thanks to the senior staff, and specifically Pyr0, the Contest Room Goon Supervisor, for the years of support, willingness to take another look at our efforts, and final approval!

    Re: Black Badge Event: Confirmed

I'm happy to hear that The Hunt is once again a Black Badge event. It's definitely worthy of it.

Teams (and potential players, etc etc), trust me, it is worth it. Even if it's only one badge, playing in the Scavenger Hunt is still one of the best damn ways to spend a weekend in Vegas. A reward this big is just icing on the cake.
Of course its fully cooked... we had it set on "linen".
