I feel like The Schemaverse tournament loses some potentially great players because of the tagline I foolishly created last year: "The tournament for the database geeks". If I called it "The programmers AI challenge" and made it obvious that you can play however you feel most comfortable pushing electrons around, the game would likely get a lot more interest from different skill sets.
Let me clarify right now:
You can play this game using whatever environment you want, it is just the game engine that is sitting in a database.
I don't want to make the same mistake that I made last year so here is a list of who may actually have a great time competing in this tournament:
If this has maybe, just maybe, perked your interest but your not quite a believer yet, keep checking back here in the next couple weeks. We have a really exciting project in the works to show just how awesome this game can be to play without having to worry about that dreaded SQL element.

- Developers (anything with a postgresql library, so... pretty much any language)
- Artificial Intelligence Aficionados
- Database/Application pen testers
- DBAs/Alcoholics
