Re: Ninja Phones - What Next?

i put CyanogenMod ver 9 on my phone and it took to it just fine. i'll get some links together in a bit. for the doubters, i put up this video.

the first clip in there is just showing the stock CM9 boot sequence (which in and of itself is pretty snappy) but then you can see that i had to do a little modding to keep it more ninja-y ;-)

if you'd like that boot animation, you can grab it here. the loop effect is a little hacky (a few repeated frames) because it was being fussy, but you can tweak and mod that as much as you wish.

getting sound to work is a whole other beast and sometimes phones are a lot more fussy there.

    enjoy!
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

Re: Ninja Phones - What Next?

My full guide and writeup to the flashing the Ninjatel is at https://defcon.hackingyour.net/FlashingyourNinjatel.pdf

I tried to make it as detailed and step by step as possible and to credit everyone that worked on this over the weekend while we tried to get these working the way we wanted.

I might be able to get around to doing that on Wednesday evening. Too much going on between now and then. I am TOTALLY fine if someone else does it first though.

Re: Ninja Phones - What Next?

Just a quick note, I decided to reflash the ninjatel rom and got the wifi and sip working with original ninja apps/dialer. I'll post details tomorrow.

Thanks to Tacitus for the inspiration.

Re: Ninja Phones - What Next?

For anyone that is having a problem with the Ninjatel sending and receiving MMS I figured out the problem tonight. I will update my guide tomorrow and post a revision 2 (may even fix some typos) that has the fix info for AT&T and TMO. If you want the fix info for a different carrier included please let me know and I'll include that too.

Updated document with some consistency issues, shrunk PDF by 80%, notes about iPhone 4 micro SIM issues, and add special notes about T-Mobile/SIMpleTel and 3G (or lack there of)

two phones - converted.. this doc helped a lot.

one typo that slowed me down for a few minutes:

                      h. Type fastboot.exe flash boot.img and press Enter

                      should be:
                      h. Type fastboot.exe flash boot boot.img and press Enter

                      note the additional word "boot".
