What is the status of DC907, Auke, AK?

Hello I am new here and I believe I am posting in the right area to ask this question. Forgive my ignorance if I am not. I'm wondering if the Auke Bay, AK DEFCON group is still active. Looks like it was in 2005 and I wasn't sure if it was okay to email the listed contact directly. I'd be interested to know if the group is meeting monthly since I'd like to learn more about this group and all things technical before next years conference.

Hello, I am one of the moderators here on the Defcon forums.

The location you chose was a forum primarily for the announcements of Defcon Groups, mostly by the coordinator for DCG, and for heads of DCG (though this purpose may change over time.)

A better place for a new thread would have been in the general forum [forum=12]Local Meetings & Other Events[/forum].

Your post has been stripped from the original thread and relocated to a *newly* created for for DC907.
(Any DCG listed on https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...ups-index.html should have a forum associated with it, for discussions. It was my fault that this forum was not present when you tried to post. Sorry about that.)

My reply to this relocated post should help you to locate your post, so that you don't think it was deleted. (Deletions are bad --very, very bad, as they create a hostile forum environment, are tainted with 'censorship', and risk revising history. We generally relocate offending posts to /dev/null or Fucktard Hall if they are really bad, as examples to all readers and members. Spam and any replies to spam are not deleted but is moved to a private space I use to try to better understand spammers, and prevent spam from appearing.)

Hope this all helps you to understand what happened, what would have been a better choice, and why I did what i did with your post and this new forum.
