I've logged in every few days, and while I expect this time of year to not show a lot of activity, it's been even quieter than usual. Out of random curiosity, I clicked on the pics link (https://pics.defcon.org/index.php), and instead of ending up at the pix site I'd expected, I ended up with a 404.
Now, what the error *said* was the following:
The thing is (as you can see), that link is using https, not http. Just to check, I tried it with just the http, but I still see the error. I haven't been to that site in ages, and I have no idea how long this has been a problem, but it seems to be a problem now.
P.S. Before I forget, that 404 error is still suggesting people send email to defconforums@gmail.com, and for some reason, it seems to me that you moved away from gmail (I could be wrong; I've been wrong before. often).
Now, what the error *said* was the following:
404 : Not Found : http is no longer supported.
On January 7, 2009 we migrated this site to entirely use https instead of supporting both http and https.
If you find you cannot use the https version of our site, we would like to hear from you by email. We may not re-enabled http support just for one person, but with enough people, we will consider re-enabling it.
Try to go on to see the same content requested, but using https with this link. (We will ask your browser to forward you to that same link in 30 seconds, but you can select that link now to skip the 30 second wait.)
