You forgot an option : "Eris is awesome and the best person for this job"
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.

Eris is awesome is always a given. I don't need a stinking poll to tell me that.

Yup, again, you 139plus people viewing this poll, only 5 have voted. Are you slowly reading, taking your time, making sure you vote for the absolutely best one? Can you say "vote?" I knew you could!

It has been mentioned that perhaps the public listing of those who have voted in the results page may be preventing some of you from freely voting. I do not have an admin option to change the privacy setting of a poll already posted and voted on, but I have requested possible assistance from forum administrators.

If your name showing up in a poll regarding a short story popularity contest is a problem for you, I apologize if it cannot be changed. It never occurred to me it was an issue regarding the subject at hand as on the forums we are all under pseudonyms anyway but I have been wrong before.

This poll has been edited; how people voted has been removed from public display.

Mods/Admins can still see how people voted. We may also be asked to detect abuse and allow the judges to revise vote counts if it looks like a person is voting more than once, using multiple accounts. (people using multiple accounts risk being banned, as that is a forum rule violation, even if it is "just used for voting.")

Thank you, Cotman! Great response, as usual!

Due to a an oversight(mostly on my part, really) on the back end of things on the forums I was unable to edit polls. Due to this a story was missed and has not been able to be voted on. If you read "Defcon 0X2A by Dichotomy" and wished to vote, you may do so now. My deepest apologies to Dichotomy for this lack. There have been a few "shakedown" problems with this contest and my takeover and my lack of knowledge about forums in general. Please check your PMs Dichotomy for a resolution email.

                  Cheers!

As a non-tech person, my mother asked me to post her appreciation for the stories that were written in a way that one didn't need to be a geek to read them. I won't point out any she mentioned so as to avoid any undue slant in voting. She wanted to me tell all of the authors that as a non tech person, with a pre-conceived notion of the way we think (linear, without creativity, mathematically) she was pleasantly surprised at the entries I received. (She has a techy sort of geeky daughter and still I get this!)

Good job everyone! I am really looking forward to seeing the results of the People's Choice Polls!
