they are going to start producing mad linux machines for public consumption.
are they out yet?
when do they come out?
any one used them?
how much do they cost?
what kind of hardware are they talking about?
anything?

Interesting, I jst got off the phone with an IBM Rep who wants to sell me PCs at 30% off, and they have "something new"....

they had to work a bunch of stuff out with microsoft because they wern't happy that comps were going out without their OS's. IBM had to make a deal with them so that MS didnt cancel IBM's lisence to use Windoze. (cuz honestly, thats most of the pc market.) it would crush IBM if they couldn't sell MS OS's.

Oh come on! Thats just bullshit. I can understand having tiered pricing, but to totally pull their license??? That HAS to be illegal in some way...

I never said they used Linux, they just have something new and I don;t know what they are hyping. We'll see!

I have heard things about RedHat 8, and something regarding the bastadization of KDE. I believe one of the lead KDE developers has left RedHat very disgruntled. It did surround the fact that they are about to make a push towards mainstream at the cost of self... but I didn't get any more than that yet

Yes, Gnome and KDE have been "altered" a bit... they look strangely similar...

Personally I dont give a shit. I know what I like, and that is what I will continue to use. Not like you cant "change" things yourself ya know? But if you read all the fervor on the net, sheesh. You'd think they (RH) signed a deal with the devil (Gates)... Guess you get what you pay for... :D
