    Crypto and Privacy Village

Hello there ladies and gentlemen of DEFCON...

Planning is underway for a Crypto and Privacy Village this year. A tentative plan:

    - Cryptoparty-style tutorials on how to use popular encryption tools like Tor and GPG
    - Cryptanalysis/breaking 101, teaching you how to break classical encryption systems like Caesar ciphers and Vigenere along with some modern crypto breaking (e.g. ECB mode, repeated IV, padding oracle, compression ratio)
    - (Possibly?) EFF presence talking about privacy law

    Sound good?

We've been assigned a room, and are working with the EFF to make this awesome. Our tentative hours are Friday and Saturday, Noon - 6PM.

We're looking for volunteer teachers who are interested in giving basic cryptoparty-style tutorials on popular software such as Tor/Tails and PGP/GPG. If you're interested in doing this sort of thing, let us know!

            Neat!

Will there be a GPG signing party as part of this?

Whee, awesome. I tried to get one started via the forums for DC20, but I think we needed the Snowden catalyst (and maybe someone more organized than myself).

So what's the deal? How can we help this village take off? Are you putting an agenda together we can publish in the printed program, etc?

                    Hi DT,

We have a tentative agenda here:

                    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...ftHjknitKg/pub

We will definitely be getting this information into the printed program.

I've never been to a GPG signing party, and my mind is chock full of ignorant questions! If it wasn't 01:30, would reading http://www.cryptnet.net/fdp/crypto/k...ing_party.html tell me everything I need to know?

                      Thanks!
