  • DefconBots Results

DefconBots 22 is done! I want to say how much I appreciate all the help with the contest especially from all of the competitors. You built robots (some the day of the contest O_o), fielded countless questions that I should have been answering (but was too busy sexily laying around the arena) and 4 out of every 5 dentists agree that you made DefconBots the best event at Defcon this year. _Please_ keep in touch and compete next year!

If you have pictures or video of the event PLEASE email them to me: defcon@jotux.com
You can find pictures I took on my site: http://jotux.com/defconbots/22/
I will also update the defconbots.org site with all the media you send to me.

    RESULTS

I tracked results of the quals/finals for all the teams (reply to this thread if anything looks incorrect). The score is calculated one point per hit of every target. Example: you finish wave 1 and get 7 hits on wave 2, your total score will be 12.

    NOTABLE MOMENTS

    - When the Team MX robot became semi-sentient and shot me in the face with the laser
    - When 2-3k people that asked Kat about the competition
    - The pew-pew noise that the Pew Pew Robots Team robot made (only I could hear -- pew, pew, pew, pew, pew)
    - Alvaro holding the robot together with his hands during qualification
    - Team Cycloptic literally showing up, compiling their code for the first time and hitting 3 targets
    - The chirping bird cat toy on top of the Team Cat Toy Robot (only I could hear...again -- tweet, tweet, tweet)
    - The crazy Golden Gears Robot with all the glitter, feathers, and bells

    WRAPPING UP

TEAM CYCLOPTIC: I have the motors and sumo wedge for your Zumo robot. PM or email me (defcon@jotux.com) so I can get it to you.

DefconBots will likely be back next year with a similar event -- computer vision, fuckin' lasers, moving targets.
Working...
