At con and after, discussions with others liked the idea of a way to video chat with other Defcon people in an attempt to emulate the various Barcon's and such during Defcon. I like the idea of having others around in a virtual sense while I work and to not be as isolated as I am the rest of the year.
To that end, I experimented a bit this past weekend and setup a hangout on G+ and had lots of random friends drop in and chat and have some great discussions. It convinced me to start up a permanent, public hangout for forum members and generally anyone else that cares to join up.

I have an event setup for 2 years in the future, so the hangout is open for anyone to join 'early' and chat. It's a work around to keep things open without having to have a single person hosting.
Join the chat, see who else joins, start talking. It is a completely non-official thing, and may devolve into a hacker chat roulette, but still worth a shot.
Feel free to hit me up with questions and comments and ideas.
