  • DefCon 11 WarDriving Contest Sign Up Instructions

You may sign up for any team (1-12) that you desire. To sign up simply reply to the thread for the team you wish to be on with your name/handle (your setup would be nice as well but is not required). The liability form will be emailed to the address you used when registering for the DefCon Forums. Once you have read the liability form and agree, email it back to In your reply state I have read, understand, and accept the liability form. This acceptance must occur within 48 hours of it being sent to you or you will be removed from the team. Once all 5 members of a team have returned the liability form the thread will be closed and I will send a notice to all five members of the team. Each team must have 5 members. There will be no teams of 1, or teams of 3, unless less than 60 people sign up to participate. This notice will provide each team member with the other members email addresses so that pre-con planning and preparation can take place.

If you sign up for a team that already has 5 members, an email will be sent to you explaining that the team already has 5 members and you will be placed in stand by. If you wish to be removed from stand by you will need to sign up for a team that is not full and request that you be removed from stand by. It is each contestants responsibility to ensure that they sign up for a team that is not full.

If you have not recieved email confirmation and the liability form within 24 hours of signing up for a team, contact to resolve the issue.

    Good luck.
Once all 12 teams are full, you may sign up for the Stand by list. If any contestants do not check in with WarDriving contest staff on time, they will be removed from the team and a stand by contestant may be chosen to replace him/her.
