So all this talk of health care reform has had a lot of us in the InfoSec space interested. Will there be a HIPAA 2: Electric Boogaloo? Will there finally be some sensible legislation around the medical records of citizens? Read that article and I think you'll agree the answer to that is a NO. This shit is scary kids. Keep an eye on this stuff and be ready to call your reps to tell them that if they support this kind of nonsense it will be political suicide, as we'll remember what they thought of our privacy next time we go to the polls.

Genetic profiling is not something I think anyone wants. The slippery slope is pretty obvious here. We can start deciding before kids even grow up if they are going to exhibit criminal behavior, or other undesirable behavior like homosexuality or independent thought.
