Preparing for First Defcon

I will be attending my first Defcon this year. I am a little nervous about it. I don't do so well in social situations and would prefer to hide in a corner, but I guess we will see how it goes.

I am excited about attending the lectures and possibilly meeting new people if I can get out of my own way. We will see.

Look me up, and if you can, try to make the forum meet. Last year was my first Defcon, so I know what you're thinking. Open up a little, and you'll find out a lot of the other attendees have the same interests -- so there will be a lot more to talk about than usual social situations. ;)

OK, here's what you're going to do...

On Thursday:

First your going to attend DefCon 101 & then the ToxicBBQ.

If you're still nervous after DefCon 101 or at the toxicbbq, you're going to come up to me and introduce yourself, and then I will introduce you to some other people... It will then be on you to take it from there.

But you're not going to forget about the Forum Meet & Goon Band on Friday night... After those four events you should be primed and good to go.

I plan on attending Defcon 101, the toxicbbq that kept reading about I was not so sure about. I leave tomorrow morning on an 8:30 flight. I hoping that getting there a day ahead of time will help me to relax and not feel so nervous.
