Has anyone read any good books? I was walking around B&N and found a few. I picked up Hacker Cracker in hopes that its a good story. What are your picks?

Our picks are already listed in the appropriate forum. Try that little button up there that says "search".

First you must learn how to search:
      http://forum.defcon.org/search.php?s=

This questions is asked/answered again and again, here are three relevant threads regarding the keyword books:

Defcon Forums > Technical Area > Got Questions? > linux books
      http://forum.defcon.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1082
Defcon Forums > Technical Area > Wireless Technology > Wireless Security Book
      http://forum.defcon.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=768
Defcon Forums > Technical Area > Computer Security > best security books????
      http://forum.defcon.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=501

These threads contain suggest material for anyone to read regarding fiction, fact, information warfare, hacking, security, protocols, networking, oses... etc.

I haven't read Hacker Cracker: A Journey from the Mean Streets of Brooklyn to the Frontiers of Cyberspace by Ejovi Nuwere but I have seen a few of his presentations regarding his book that he has delivered to Orange County Florida's Penitentiary over video feed and Ejovi discusses that this book doesn't focus about hacking entirely but focuses more on his life and upbringing, his wishes, dreams, travesties with a sideline of old-school exposure along the way... has anyone read his book that wants to comment on the content of the book? I have a large collection of hacker-related books that are either written by hackers or about hackers, so I am sure this book will eventually be in my collection... but was wondering if it was soley exploiting the usage of the word hacker to sell the book.

B&N? Christ! I would never spend the $50 they charge for their books. Go to a used book store and buy them for $8.
