There are no 2600 meetings in the techno capital of the world: Tokyo :(

I have been in tokyo doing security work now for the past 2 months and have yet to find any semblance of a hacker or underground community.

the fact that i cant read japanese characters probably doesnt help either
    heh

but im disapointed. Was hoping to find somthing interesting. I bet no one has war drove tokyo either... im thinking it would probably take a good few solid months to cover the greater tokyo area (33 million people)

    ahh well

maybe i should start one, an international one
Livin it up in the digital metropolis known as Tokyo.

    Japanese Hackers

I have tons of emails for 'hackers' in japan but i think hacking isnt something that public there. Most of the ug sites went offline and for those that stuck around they turned into 'security' sites. Gov. stuff with hackers there is different than the US.

You can pick up a magazine called 'HackerJapan' while your out that way which is about 250-300 page mag for that area. You wont be able to read much of it, but there are tons of program reviews and you can read the screenshots :)

Google is your friend. Although I shall give you a hint in the right direction. Three groups exist holding the name of what you seek. They are in LA, OC, and Utah.

Did it come after your post, if so yes. If I specifically point it someone else then no. Forum ettiquete, it's not just for goons, it's a way of life. Hmmm, I think I got a new quote.

                I'll make it so easy...

...but I still get to say that you didn't look at the Forum FAQ. Had you looked at the Forum FAQ, you may have found what you are looking for, because the Forum FAQ is probably a good place to start for that sort of thing. Of course, if you choose to not look at the Forum FAQ, we can't be held responsible for any lack of discoveries that may come from not checking out the Forum FAQ. You see, the Forum FAQ is your friend, and source of all knowledge and wisdom. Only the Forum FAQ should be consulted for knowledge and wisdom - anything else is just a false oracle, prophet, soothsayer, swami, or prestidigitator. That number again: 888 FORUM-FAQ. Side effects of Forum FAQ are comparable to those of sugarpill. Always consult your healthcare professional before using Forum FAQ. Forum FAQ is for everyone, especially pregnant or nursing mothers, the eldery, the infantile, and sufferers of rickets, beri-beri, dropsy, scurvy, bubonic plague, deviated septum, and long-chain grease molecule skidmarks. Offer void in HI and AK, the freak states (except for military installations where Forum FAQ may be available). No purchase is necessary to read Forum FAQ, but we're broke and need beer so send money anyway.

Another forum I post on did that. It ended up getting all the traffic, so they stopped it.
