  • Anybody play with GPS on a Zaurus?

Was wondering what GPS devices are confirmed to work on the Zaurus. I currently have a Linksys CF card, and Kismet running great. I'm hoping there's a GPs out there with a serial interface that I can hook into the IO port, so I can have both the wireless and the GPS going at the same time...that way Kismet can map the networks it finds

Is this just a pipe dream?

uhhh.... I hate my zaurus. I cry myself to sleep thinking about how much i spent on this piece of crap. should have spent a little more for an ipaq. sob sob
can you even plug anything into the i/o port on the bottom, I thought that was only used for syncing. i would be interested to hear about anyone's success with this.

I can't image why you would possibly say that...my Zaurus is the best thing I've ever bought!...I love it.

By the way, I found the answer - The Garmin GPS has an optional serial cable, and serialio.com sells a serial cable for the Zaurus that even allows you to open the keyboard!...and there's even software thast allows you to interface with the GPS. TOO COOL

Now I just have to justify it before Defon ;)

          Zaurus

I use me Zaurus all the time.... I have a Garmin Summit with the optional 12vdc/Serial adapter going to Zaurus with serial cable...
Only problem I have ever had with Zaurus was that I bought a netgear MA701 and it would not work in my Zaurus, but would work in a friends (strange). I went and got the newer Linksys.... works great.

Does anyone have airsnort running on theirs???? I prefer it over kismet.....

BTW: the Netgear has a port in it if you pop open the plastic cover.... can an external antannea be connected?????
