DefCon Vendors...

Looking at buying a new laptop, probably Thinkpad or Toshiba. Are prices best online, or should I wait until DefCon and check out vendors there? Also, are most laptops sold there in box sealed, or open/on display?

you can always find some neat deals at defcon, don't get me wrong... (I always buy a few pieces of hardware) just new in a box generally isn't the way they are presented... and may be a few years behind the current trend... of course there are always exceptions :)

Agreed... I wouldn't go specifically looking for hardware. What you DO get a lot of are strange items that you can't find anywhere else, or don't dare to go looking for (thanks Uncle Ira!), as well as a lot of items that you haven't seen in a LONG time.
