  • CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

If you want to volunteer reply to this thread. In about a month or so I will be hitting you up.

This year I am looking for someone that really knows how to solder and can guide/teach people as I need to offload some of what I do in the HHV to make space for the contests we are having this year.

If you were a volunteer last year also respond here as well.

I can help out. I think I'm pretty good at soldering almost anything, but I do tend to use flux pens and wick (which seemed to be in short supply/missing last year?)

I'm a novice but would be glad to help out where I can.

I'm in. I will be mostly dedicated to DarkNet, but when I can I can wander around the HHV and help out.

I would be happy to help out. I helped people solder their badges and work through some of the challenges in the HHV at SaintCon this last year.

I would like to help. I have experience training people with little to no solder experience how to solder PTH and SMD components.

I can help out. I am reasonably good at soldering SMT components. I volunteered for the packet hacking village last year but think I would be more useful in HHV.

I was an unofficial volunteer last year. I tried to sign up but posted in the wrong thread. Looks like I've found the right one this time.
I taught a number of people basic soldering skills using the Larsen Scanners provided, and pulled a few parts from my own supply for someone who wanted to learn SMT soldering.
I brought the oscilloscope. One person made a really cool signal generator out of their badge using it. Additionally I gave a short lecture to a few people on probing I/O ports.

If you're using the Circuit Specialist's CSI Deluxes (the same model from last year), I got one immediately after last DEFCON so I'm very familiar with them.
I can teach a few large soldering classes as well as other things. Let me know.

Sounds good I will be posting more as I get info.

Okay there are more than I thought. Your name above lets me know you want to volunteer. In a month I will be asking for emails and contact info once we have our village meeting.

I blasted out a message to all those who posted here. If you have not heard from me, or not posted here, please feel free to PM me.

We're looking for folks who are willing to work a few hours, have some domain knowledge to help folks who are having trouble (soldering, debugging, design, etc), and maybe aren't afraid to role up their sleeves and give a demo/tutorial.

I'm looking forward to an awesome year!
