We're already seeing this where I work up here. We've had to hire another engineer to help cope with the increase!

at Oregon state univeristy (corvallis, oregon) the TRF (Technology Resource Fee) comitee is giveing out grants to most departments that want to do wireless.. so most of the campus is becomeing wireless. The only problem is most departments dont know how to maintain said devices... so the network engineering team at osu is doing a good job working at trying to unify the campus with a multi level solution..

But the growth else whare is also quite impressive in both residential areas and busnesses in corvallis there are quite a few new ap's

a few of the residential ap's are banding together to provide free service to thoughs in range http://www.cafwap.net

Companies love to have the newest shit. And we love to have nice stats while wardriving. It's a win win situation.

It'll be interesting to see what gets deployed as far as standards go. I guess we wait and see.

High schools are even begining to have wireless LAN's. Our rival high school has one set-up, fairly new I think. I have yet to check it out but I think I will fairly soon.
