Visa invitation? Sent request at 2016-05-16, still no reply.

Hello guys,

as instructed in FAQ i sent request for visa invitation at info@defcon.org at 2016-05-16.


However, although my interview is ina few days (7.6.2016) i haven't got any reply.

Please help, it's urgent.

Have you checked any kind of "spam" or filtering folder that might contain blocked things categorized as spam? Some spam-blocking services will blacklist defcon.org or similar sites, or classify content from such domains as bad, and not place them in your Inbox.

After you do this, and you find there is no such email in any filtered mailboxes other than your inbox, is the email address you used to register with these forums the same as the address you used to contact info@defcon.org ? If so, would you give me permission to lookup the email address you are using with your account and pass it along to someone that has access to the info@defcon.org email account which might be able to see if a reply was sent out? If you used a different email address, don't publish either in the public-space on these forums, you can sent me a PM.

If you want me to establish that I have access to see your forum-registered email before you give me permission, or the email address you used, I can send you an email from the same email address we have here on the forums from forum support, you can reply, and I can reply again to show I can read email sent to the DEF CON forum support email address.

Yes, i used same email address to register here and send an email with invitation letter request.

There is no any particular filters, i checked logs in email server, i didn't see anything coming from defcon.org for me.

I don't have problems showing you my email address, i'll give you permission for that. However, i still didn't figure it out how to give permission only to you?

Ah, the permission request is not part of the forum software; just you writing "I'll give you permission for that" is enough for me. I have access to the DB and I can look-up any registered user's email address. The permission you granted is for me to take your registered email address and send it to someone that does not have access to the forum DB, but does have access to check info@defcon.org for email messages. It is permission for me to take a piece of "private" information limited to admins/mods on the forums and hand it to someone that is not a forum admin/mod, but is still part of DEF CON. I have a reply from a person that checks info@defcon.org mail, and they do not see an email message from your email address used to register with the forums.

Please re-send your email message. As a part of a diagnostic step, feel free to "CC" me at "defconforums@gmail.com" with your re-sending of your message. If I get a message, it can help check to see that your message really is being sent, and help to diagnose problems if I get your message but info@defcon.org does not. They are welcome to CC "defconforums@gmail.com" in their reply to, to make sure their response is going out, if they want.

[Added: She also requests you cc her in your message. Check your PM for her email address.]

[Added part 2: I see she sent you an email message and CC-ed me. Did you get her email message AND my reply, or just my reply?]

Thanks! I got your reply and see you got the reply from Nikita directly. I completed a "reply all" to your reply.

So far, I have not seen any problems with email between these domains.

If Nikita sees your reply and mine, then mail service is working between these domains and there is no longer a need to CC defconforumd@gmail.com for testing.
